Karen Christensen

Karen Christensen, our beloved sister passed away peacefully on May 24, after a courageous lifetime of health complications. Despite all of this she earned multiple bachelor’s degrees and a master’s from DePaul University. She inspired us all with her faith, love, support, and kindness. She loved her family dearly. She was a great Santa’s helper. Her artistic talents and creativity were shared with every card, note and invitation. We will so miss receiving them. She reminded us of the importance of education and continuous reading. We thank her for the yearly gift of Reader’s Digest continuing our father’s tradition. She cherished her beautiful garden that she knew was a gift from God with all who saw it. She is survived by her sister Diane (Dennis) Schultz and Donna (Scott) Sutcliffe, the late James (Sandy) Christensen, Eileen (the late Joseph) Yankee and the Deane/Devitt families. She is a loving aunt to Katie, Matt, Jay, Megan, Caleb, Makena, Eden, Rebecca, and Annette. Visitation will be held Saturday from 10:30 AM until Mass of Christian Burial, 11:30 AM at St. Julianna Church (Touhy & Oketo). Interment All Saints Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Shriner’s Hospital. Arrangements handled by Gibbons Family Funeral Home. For info 773-777-3944 or www.GFFH.com
