Pat, John and families, my deepest condolences on your loss. Your mom and dad were the kindest and best of friends to my dad and after he was gone, remained good friends to me and our family. Whether your mom was dropping off Maurice Lenell cookies, sending us home with her amazing bread, or reminding us that God is good and prayer is powerful, she did all with her beautiful Irish smile, grace and humor. I had my oldest son Paul a few weeks after my dad died and your parents dropped by nearly every Sunday for at least a year, just to say hello, make sure all was well and have a cup of tea. We remained in touch always. They both exuded love, generosity and every kindness. Your parents leave behind a tremendous legacy to everyone they touched and I am blessed and grateful for their friendship. It is surely bittersweet – sad they are gone and yet beautiful they are back together for eternity. May God bless and comfort you all as you grieve. With love and sympathy, Maureen McGrath Shakeshaft
