I was / still am one of Andrew’s friends from DePaul’s computer science program. We used to hang out and go to concerts together. Andrew was a light in the world and a genius. I remember having wonderful discussions with him about artificial intelligence and software. He was an incredible engineer and computer scientist. I will never forget him. I had a dream the other day that he was steadily focused on a robotics project. He looked really happy and I think he is in a better place now.

I only today discovered and marveled at Andrew’s brilliant Elixir metaprogramming presentation to ChicagoElixir (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_IwlCPs4n-I), then went to learn more about Andrew. I was shocked and deeply sadded to find this page! My condolences to everyone who knew and loved Andrew. His legacy lives on in the hearts of those he touched and in his recorded presentations, which continue to teach and inspire people like me.
