Scott A. Kempster

Scott Allen Kempster was born August 16, 1977 in Lawton, Oklahoma, the son of William Kempster and Janet Sue Knudsen Kempster. He was baptized November 13, 1977 at Bethany Lutheran Church by Rev. Paul Roeder. His family relocated to Chicago and joined Trinity Lutheran Church where he was confirmed by Rev. Mark Heine June 7, 1992. He graduated from Trinity Lutheran School in 1992, then attended Luther High School North, graduating in 1996.

Scott worked at Walgreens for 25 years. He also drove for Uber and shared stories of customers requesting rides to Indiana and Michigan.

He was the grill master at family parties. He enjoyed bringing desserts, especially pies from Hoosier Mama. Scott always made time to talk with Aunt Dorothy and Aunt Shirley. He was a lifelong Dallas Cowboys fan. He traveled with his brother to WrestleMania.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Daryl Kempster.

In the last years of his life, Scott experienced multiple health issues. He never stopped trying to overcome these challenges, and never stopped being kind, appreciative, and concerned for others.

On February 24th, God took Scott home to the place He prepared for him. Those who knew and loved him will miss him but are confident of a joyful reunion with him in heaven.

The memorial service will be March 15th at Messiah Lutheran Church, 6201 W. Patterson Ave, Chicago. Visitation will be at 10 AM, with the service to follow at 11 AM.
