Barbara Ann Kelly “Babs” nee Gorham, passed away on April 27, 2016 at home surrounded by her loving family. Barbara was the beloved wife of the late Luke J. C.F.D; loving mother to Luke L. C.P.D. (Eileen), Patrick C.F.D. (Shari), Ann (Daniel) O’Grady, Mary Elizabeth (Thomas) Broderick and Daniel (Tara); devoted grandmother to Aidan, Luke, Brenna and Sean Kelly, Ashley, Jack and Matthew Kelly, Kelly, Katelyn and Meghan O’Grady, Briana, Ryan and Kelsey Broderick and Daniel and Kate Kelly; loving sister to Peter (Lin) Gorham; cherished daughter of the late Mark and Carter Gorham; dear sister- in- law of the late Jim (Bea) Kelly, the late William Kelly, Kay Lou Kelly, the late Kathleen (Robert ) Dyra, Andy (Therese) Kelly, Karen Kelly and the late Maureen Chambers; fond aunt, cousin and friend of many in the United States and Ireland. Retired from the Illinois Attorney General’s Office and the Chicago Department of Aviation. She was truly a very special person whose greatest joy in life was being a mother and grandmother. She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her. Funeral Monday 9:30 AM from at Gibbons Family Funeral Home (½ Block East of Austin) to St. Thecla Church. Mass 10:30 AM. Interment All Saints Cemetery. Visitation Sunday 2-9 PM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, Chicago Police Memorial Foundation or the Chicago Fire Department Widows and Orphans Fund.
